Douglas Harper is an abstracting and examining attorney in our Baton Rouge office. A native of Baton Rouge, Douglas was raised in the historic Garden District, where he currently resides with his girlfriend Anna, their two cats, Clarence and Portia, and the apple of his eye, his corgi-mix Rosie.

Some have called him the Maestro of the Public Record, having abstracted or examined title on more than 2,000 properties in southern Louisiana in his time at Fleur De Lis Law & Title. Douglas graduated from the Paul M. Hebert LSU Law Center and practiced in the area of Civil Litigation for just over two years before joining the Fleur De Lis team in February of 2020. 

He draws his inspiration from other masters of their craft, including legendary Grateful Dead frontman Jerry Garcia and his Fleur De Lis Law & Title colleague, Stephen Scherer. When he’s not digging through Parish Land Records, Douglas more than likely is somewhere getting too stressed out about a given LSU sporting event, listening to music, cooking or reading.
